
The main objective during planning & scheduling of every job is to schedule, organize, monitor and control all the required resources, viz., manpower, material and non material requirements of the job, for a successful completion within the target dates & budgeted cost, in coordination with all the concerned departments. The responsibilities of planning department are sub-divided into sections i.e. Materials planning & Production planning. All the critical milestones of every awarded job are first discussed during the in-house kick-off meeting. The agenda is to discuss in detail Scope description, Design aspects, Quality aspects, Procurement of material and Fabrication activities. Emphasis is given to the commitments of individual sections to meet the end delivery date. A master schedule is then prepared based on the discussions for scheduling, monitoring & control. For material management major activities involve material indent, follow-up / expedition, procurement and insurance of material.
